17 Nov. 2021. TMC consolidated its machine presence in Ireland by supplying its machine equipment to Aldar Tissues. Aldar, part of the Zeus Packaging Group, is Ireland’s leading paper converter, specialising in the design and manufacture of retail and industrial paper products. Aldar offers a wide range of quality paper products for the Consumer and Away From Home markets.
Since acquiring Aldar in 2018, Zeus has continued to invest in growing the business with the aim of capturing 40% of converted paper product needs of the Irish market, thus reducing the need for import of these products. Aldar tissue invested many resources in order to increase the production capabilities. Among these, a new flexible production line in the new plant in Dublin, capable to manufacture both Consumer and Away From Home products.
TMC is directly involved in this new, challenging project since it provided Aldar with the packaging equipment from wrapping through bundling, up to palletizing for their manufacturing lines. Downstream the converter, TMC supplied Universa tissue wrapper: the appreciation for Universa on the market is due to its high flexibility and adaptability to all tissue formats, from single to multi-rolls configurations, either with kitchen and toilet tissue rolls.
The production speed goes up to 200 packs per minute, ready for paper-based, sustainable wrapping materials. Following the wrapper, comes the bundler: Cinque is the perfect fit for Aldar. It processes (as well as Universa) all pack typologies: single, double, triple layer packs and Away From Home products. In addition, thanks to its “in-line” layout, Cinque offers a very compact footprint, also optimising the product flow processes. To complete the production line, TMC supplied Aldar Tissues with two end-of-line systems: a stretchwrapping machine for products in bundle and a palletizer. Both systems are equipped with anthropomorphic robots, capable to satisfy the manufacturing requests.
The machine equipment promptly handles either single or multiple pallets (also of different typologies); a label applicator completes the line, making the end-of-line fully automatic all along the process, from out of the log saw up to the finished pallet. All TMC machinery can be equipped with IMA Sentinel, the open platform to monitor autonomously the equipment conditions, 24/7. Real time monitoring, machine data statistics and real average machine performance are Sentinel’s main features, along with the creation action lists for the operator to set the machine at best. As for data security, TMC offers A4GATE: a technology providing total hardware isolation and segmentation for safe data transfers.
TMC is proud of being part of Aldar Tissue’s growth in Ireland. A prestigious success consolidating TMC position as packaging solution-leading supplier in the region, in addition to being already a leader in the UK for this sector. Not a coincidence, since TMC offers the most complete after-sales services for Consumer products through its controlled company AMS – Asset Management Service, which is 100% committed to customer service. On this matter, the Away From Home market deserves a special mention: the latest years registered an upgrade of the lines performance, thus requiring the packaging lines to adapt to the new machine speeds. For this reason, the AFH market is orientating towards packaging machines that are usually employed in the Consumer market.
TMC immediately caught this market opportunity and promptly developed new technologies in order to adapt its machines to answer these AFH market requests. In addition, for what is about palletizing, TMC has been leading the market for three years. Thanks to its expertise, the Company is capable to devise dedicated solutions from log-saw’s exit up to pallet, giving TMC a further advantage to present itself as one-stop supplier and the certainty of a first-class customer service.
