12 July 2021.British tissue manufacturer Northwood is pushing for growth and will make significant investments at its headquarter in Telford, England with the aim of increasing capacities.
The company announced it would install a new tissue converting line with a capacity of 13,000 tpy. In addition, the firm plans several investments in site infrastructure. It will, amongst others, expand the site with warehousing premises and invest in automated packaging ecquipment. Several millions of pounds are to be spent on the project. The measures will also create 30 new jobs, Northwood reports. At the moment, the Telford mill employs 189 people.
Northwood said that like many other companies, it was affected by the pandemic. "But we have weathered the storm and, as businesses have started to reopen, we are seeing a big increase in demand once again," it added. The tissue producer is therefore optimistic, talking of an exciting new phase.
