Our partnership demonstrates Konecranes commitment to bringing more female employees into the engineering industry and developing a more diverse workforce. As a company partner, Konecranes will attend events run by WES to learn about and share good practice as well as advertising engineering vacancies on the WES website job boards and newsletters, to reach a larger network.
Konecranes UK HR Director Karen Winfield, said: “This is an issue that I am particularly passionate about and I am very delighted that Konecranes is partnering with WES to inspire and support women to achieve their potential as engineers.
“Attracting women to engineering roles is unfortunately a common challenge and one that many engineering companies also face. Our partnership with WES supports our global diversity programme and will enable us to access best practice advice in hopefully encouraging more women into engineering and to Konecranes”.
“Our broader commitment to an inclusive workplace includes attracting, supporting and advancing women who work with us. I am very excited about the community we want to build and hope it will grow and inspire more women to join us”.
Mark Goringe Industrial Service Director UK EMEA Mid-West said: “Our Industrial Service business is very much focused on profitable growth. To achieve these ambitious plans we need to attract and recruit the right people from across the engineering community. Our focus is to deliver world class service through our proactive and consultative customer approach. Our success depends not only on our world class products and tools but on further developing our diverse and inclusive workplace. We have many available service roles within the business which historically, have been predominantly filled by men. Our partnership with WES is an important part of our recruitment strategy to reach out to women within the engineering community to promote and fill the available roles which are open within Konecranes”.
