On 16 April, volunteers from DS Smith’s Kemsley Paper Mill delivered Easter eggs to a local children’s charity - The Young Lives Foundation.
Over the past month, Kemsley Mill and DS Smith Logistics have joined forces to collect Easter eggs.
Claire Forest, Environment Coordinator and Kemsley Charity and Community committee member commented: "Thanks to our wonderful staff, we were able to donate over 300 Easter eggs to the foundation’s campaign. The charity has already distributed 700 eggs to children in care, or being supported by social workers in Kent, so we have increased their stock just in time."
Stuart Ruck, Production Manager at Kemsley Mill added: ""We have been very fortunate to have received a large amount of eggs donated by the Unite Union and we thank them very much. We’ve also used more creative methods to increase donations such as managers offering to give extra Easter Egg donations for the team that works most efficiently. Our efforts were all worth it, as the charity were really delighted with our large donation."
Emilie Bowes-Read, Projects Support Apprentice at The Young Lives Foundation remarked: "We are so grateful to you all for arranging this egg collection. Some of the eggs have already been taken to a nearby Children’s Centre where they really will make the world of difference."
