26 Feb. 2025: Saica Pack, the corrugated packaging division of Saica Group, has announced the launch of a new £10 million warehouse in Hartlepool. This project reinforces the group's commitment to sustainable growth and innovation in the UK.

With a storage capacity of 9,000 pallets—more than double the regional average of 4,250 pallets—this facility will play a key role in Saica Pack's expansion. The warehouse will serve as a strategic hub for corrugated packaging products and will include dedicated spaces for logistics and driver welfare, enhancing operational efficiency.

In an eco-friendly initiative, the facility will incorporate solar panels capable of generating up to 10% of the site's energy needs, reducing its carbon footprint. This project aligns with Saica's environmental strategy to build a greener future.

Riccardo Tonelli, Saica Pack Northeast Regional Director, stated: "This investment in Hartlepool marks a key milestone in our long-term commitment to the region. We are strengthening our ability to provide exceptional service while promoting sustainable solutions and supporting local employment."

Ben Houchen, Mayor of Tees Valley, welcomed the initiative: "This investment is fantastic news for Hartlepool. By combining economic growth with environmental commitment, this project reflects our vision of sustainable and community-beneficial development."

Construction began on January 6, 2025, and is expected to continue throughout the year. Once completed, the warehouse will enhance Saica's delivery capabilities and reinforce its mission to provide innovative and environmentally friendly packaging solutions.
