29 Jan. 2025: The Confederation of Paper Industries today announces that Andrew Large has informed the Confederation of his intention, following 8 ½ years of service, to resign as Director General of the CPI. Andrew's formal notice period started on 27/01/2025 which means that he would step down as Director General no later than July 2025. This will give the Confederation an appropriate amount of time to identify and appoint his successor.

A thorough recruitment process will be conducted, and Andrew will remain as Director General throughout and will continue to focus on delivering strong performance from the CPI and on supporting an orderly transition to his successor.

Kevin Bussey, CPI President said "On behalf of the CPI Board I would like to thank Andrew for his contributions over his 8-year tenure as Director General. Through Andrew’s leadership the CPI has played a key role in helping its members navigate through unprecedented global events in recent history and emerge with a forward-looking strategy which will further strengthen its position for many years. We wish Andrew every success in his new role and gratitude for his professionalism during the upcoming transition period."

Andrew Large added "I have enjoyed every moment of my time with CPI, and it has been a pleasure to work with my colleagues, the Board and all of the members of the Confederation and the wider industry. After more than 8 years this seemed like the appropriate time to make this announcement, so that a proper succession and orderly handover process can take place. In the meantime, I remain fully focussed on continuing to develop and strengthen the Confederation and our leadership in the circular bioeconomy.

Further announcements regarding Andrew's leaving date and the appointment of his successor will be made in due course.
