28 Oct. 2024: It’s been 62 years since the first edition of Corrugating Defect/Remedy Manual hit the shelves and demand for the updated Seventh Edition was on full display at September’s TAPPI/AICC SuperCorrExpo Conference in Orlando as copies sold out almost immediately, the association said.
The new Seventh Edition of the Corrugating Defect / Remedy Manual was written and peer reviewed by experts in the corrugating industry who have a wealth of knowledge and a commitment to helping to make the industry better.
Corrugating machines do not always produce perfect board and defects need a remedy so the end user will be happy. There are machines built in the 1960s that are still producing corrugated board and there are also recently installed machines that run board at three times the speed of those old ones.
Delamination, warped board, poor print quality; these “defects” have not gone away since the First edition of this publication. There is information about fingered singlefacers in this manual from the original publication. This knowledge is valuable for the few remaining fingered machines still producing corrugated board. As technology has developed, those remedies have been translated to vacuum and positive pressure singlefacers, and this information is also contained in this manual.
The new edition of this manual addresses past and present remedies and should be part of every plant’s reference library.
