4 Apr. 2023: With the publication of the program and the activation of the ticket store, ZELLCHEMING Service GmbH is on the home stretch for Expo 2023, which as a hybrid event will once again invite visitors to the RheinMain CongressCenter (RMCC) in Wiesbaden from June 20 to 22.
"Both the content planning and the commitments for the Expo have developed very well! We expect to exceed last year's already very good figures by a good 10 percent," explains Petra Hanke, Managing Director of ZELLCHEMING Service GmbH. Among the more than 100 exhibiting companies and organizations are many that traditionally support the trade fair. In addition, there is a high level of interest from new exhibitors from Germany and Austria, but also from the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Belgium.
To kick off the ZELLCHEMING Forum on the first day of the fair, Prof. Dr. Helga Zollner-Croll, the future president of the association, will moderate the lecture session "Innovative energy concepts in the paper and fiber-based industry." "The topic has continued to gain significant momentum at all levels, political, operational and social, and I look forward to valuable contributions to the discussion that will shed light on the various perspectives." Among others, the managing director of the Model Paper Factory, Peter Bekaert, will report on the latest developments of this pioneering joint project.
Another program highlight will be presented by ZELLCHEMING's technical committee DATA in the session "Digitalization - Artificial Intelligence". Speakers include Rosario Othen from RWTH Aachen University and Christin Joachim from Papier- und Kartonfabrik Varel, who will report on "Data Hackathons for and with Students - Added Value for All" and thus take the perspective of the younger generation. Olav Dau from Bellmer, together with Matthias Schmitt, representing Voith Digital, will report on the use of "Augmented Reality in the paper industry" and look at ideas from the supplier industry. The circle closes with Dr. Michael Hunold from Steinbeis, who will present field reports together with Dr. Philip Gerstner from Felix Schoeller and Dr. Jörg Padberg from Koehler Paper.
"This session of lectures exemplifies the strengths of the ZELLCHEMING association and proves that we are able to promote the exchange of all participants, science, suppliers, manufacturers and young professionals, in a subject-oriented and topic-related!", explains Dr. Ernst-Ulrich Wittmann, the outgoing chairman of the association.
On the second day of the trade show, the Women4Paper meeting, which is particularly aimed at women in the pulp and paper industry, is also a highlight. The network now includes more than 300 female representatives of the industry. Mia Kainz, HR Strategy Manager at Mondi, could be won for the keynote. In her presentation, she will focus on the importance of "diversity".
The first three tandems of the Women4Paper mentoring program launched in 2022, which is now entering its second round, will report on their experiences on the third day of the fair and are thus perfectly integrated into the ZELLCHEMING Career Day. The new focus theme will enable companies in the sector to present career opportunities in their operations and make direct contact with potential young employees.
"In this way, we are increasing the attractiveness of the third day of the trade fair, reaching another visitor target group and ending the Expo with an exclamation mark. After all, this is a topic that will determine the future viability of this industry!" says Petra Hanke.
The career day includes numerous elements that give young people easy access, such as an oversized social media wall that serves as a background motif for posts. Or a Bar Camp as part of the stage program, where the audience votes on topics and sessions via smartphone, and anyone can act as a lecturer or presenter.
"The ZELLCHEMING Career Day is also aimed at universities, educational institutions, HR service providers, institutes, associations or other organizations. We will be traveling with a large group from Munich University of Applied Sciences, and I know that other universities are planning similarly. Against this background alone, we are already expecting more than 200 additional participants for this final highlight of the Expo," says Helga Zollner-Croll.
ZELLCHEMING will also continue to expand its role as a virtual pioneer and is once again organizing Expo 2023 as a hybrid event with digital reach extension. Those who can't attend live on-site will have the opportunity to join live. And for those who are at the show, the ZELLCHEMING Expo app will offer plenty of extras to get even more out of their visit.
"We are all putting a lot of energy and creativity behind the scenes into Expo 2023. We are firing up the turbo, and I am sure that we will experience beautiful days, full of inspiration and activity, and that will pay off for the visitors, the exhibitors, and the association," emphasizes Ernst-Ulrich Wittmann.
