12 Mar. 2023: Simulations teach you how to best use your equipment and processes. By applying an optimization tool to your existing model, the software will find a solution for you. With the optimizer, you define variables, constraints, and your objective function. The objective function can be, for example, maximizing profit, minimizing energy consumption, or maximizing OEE values.
In the figure above you can see an image of the optimization dialog. In this example, the optimizer determines when to speed up and when to slow down pulp production depending on the available energy type and price. The results of this evaluation serve as a guide for the operation of the factory over the next 42 hours.

More than 50 years of experience - Some references
FrontWay has over 50 years of experience creating simulation models for customers. FrontWay is a major player in the development and use of simulation software in Europe for the pulp and paper industry. FrontWay can deliver throughout the mill, from raw material receipts to the finished product. There are no restrictions in terms of components, energy or chemical reactions. We have built models and developed solutions for pulp, TMP, waste paper, board machines, paper machines and tissue.
Among the many satisfied customers are Valmet, Voith and Kadant.
